Joshua Devaratnam

Meet Joshua, a remarkable educator who embarked on his teaching journey at the young age of 19. With a rich background of playing alongside diverse bands, Joshua has honed his expertise in teaching kids the art of guitar playing. His teaching methodology is a testament to his creativity, consistently inspiring young minds to explore outside the confines of convention. Joshua's passion for teaching shines through in his role as the founder of the Jbassman School of Music, where he empowers students to unleash their musical potential while fostering a love for thinking innovatively.

Co-Founder & ABA Therapist

Sarah Devaratnam

Sarah is a seasoned educator specializing in children with special needs, particularly autism. With a decade of experience and a background in Behavior Management and Child Psychology, she offers a unique approach tailored to individual student needs.

Armed with an advanced diploma in Special Education, Sarah's thematic and engaging lessons inspire a love for learning. Her versatility, dedication, and creative teaching style make a lasting impact on her students' lives, showcasing her as an invaluable asset to the field of special education.

Drum Instructor

Nelson Jayaraj

Nelson is a professional drummer with over 30 years of performance experience and more than 20 years in music education. He has extensive experience teaching the RSL (Rockschool London) and Yamaha syllabuses, helping students prepare confidently for graded examinations while building strong technical foundations.

As an experienced Praise and Worship drummer, Nelson also teaches essential skills such as groove, dynamics, timing, and playing effectively within a band. His teaching approach blends discipline, creativity, and encouragement, helping students grow into confident and versatile drummers.

Keyboard Instructor

Meshach David

Meshach, a keyboard and piano virtuoso since age 13, boasts a unique mastery of family chords and scales, enabling him to breathe life into any song on a global scale. Guided by divine inspiration, his patient and nurturing demeanor finds harmonious expression as he imparts musical wisdom to children every day. With each note he plays, Meshach weaves a tapestry of skill, passion, and mentorship, leaving an indelible mark on both keys and hearts.

Jan Shek

Jan Shek, known simply as Jan, boasts 25 years of guitar mastery, weaving his talent through diverse genres within various musical ensembles. With a wealth of insider insights, he guides aspiring guitarists on their journey to excellence, whether they favor the electric or acoustic realm. Jan's teaching prowess extends from beginner to advanced levels, encompassing both acoustic and electric guitars, as well as the intricacies of 7- and 8-string variations.

Jan covers Bandar Sri Damansara, TTDI, Ara Damansara and areas around it.

Keyboard, Vocal & Violin Instructor

Mariann Anthony Dass

Mariann Anthony Dass discovered her passion for music at a young age, beginning piano lessons at just 3 years old and up the violin at 10. She demonstrated her natural talent by completing her ABRSM grades by the age of 16. With over 13 years of teaching experience, Mariann has guided students through both ABRSM and Trinity syllabuses, fostering their technical skills and musical confidence. versatile musician, she excels at piano, violin, and ukulele, and has the ability to sight-read and play by ear. In addition to teaching, Mariann is an active performer, entertaining audiences at bands, corporate events, and live gigs since 2016.
